150, Pebbles

Lucie was frustrated. What did she not understand? She admitted that Klype sincerely wanted to analyze the solar system’s events. Maybe she had become to obsessed with her position and overlooked the main parts of his scenarios and been to irritated of the less likely parts of it. She went over to his console and looked at it for a while. Then she started the last and unseen scenario.

The Oort planet was totally stripped of objects. All that was left was a heavily beaten planet with a thin layer of ice. The heat of the star was already in reach, so the ice started melting. Once again a tail of damp pointed from the planet. Like a gigantic comet, it rushed towards the inner planets orbits.

Astro, the fourth terrestrial planet, had passed the star’s backside a while ago.  It had its gigantic neighbor in vision. The Oort planet was almost invisible because it was just in front of the giant. The faith was determined. Astro’s circular orbit and Oort planet's oval path was, despite all odds, on direct collision course.

Their collision was nuclear. First a gigantic blitz lit up the night. Then a ring of radioactive waves hit the neighboring planets. Then a gravitation chock-wave that disturbed all the neighbors followed. Finally a shower of asteroids showered the area.

The two moons of Astro were hit hard. They were both in between Astro and the fifth planet. But they had already been pulled towards and passed the Oort planet. Io was closest to Astro and took of the major blast. The radioactive wave hit Io hard, but its shadow protected the moon Europe. Likewise, the gravitation wave chocked Io. The gloving core was pulled to the surface so it cracked and volcanoes erupted. Io protected Europe from the asteroid storm that followed too.

Europe and Io were thrown together in direction of the fifth planet. Its great gravitation pulled the moons, along with several asteroids, to the planet’s moon system. Millions of years later, their paths were stabilized, so their orbits were just as natural as for its original moons. Like fire and ice, the moons Io and Europe represented their origin. Meanwhile, most pebbles of Astro and the Oort planet spread out in Astro’s orbit. Together they formed the asteroid belt.

The third planet. Mars, was a neighbor to Astro too. It was heavily hit by the waves of radioactivity, gravitation and asteroids. First, the radioactivity killed most life. The gravitation chock blew most of the atmosphere of the surface. If there was any hope back, it was knocked out by the numerous hard asteroid impacts. Both the third and the second planet were tilted a little by the waves. Finally, there was only a rusty little lifeless planet back. Now it had only one neighbor in stead of two. Only two asteroids sailed slowly around the third planet as witnesses of the fatal history.

The second planet, Terra, was twice the distance from the explosion. The deviation of the waves reduced the effect considerably. In addition, the planet had a good atmosphere that hindered radiation and particles. Finally, the new moon provided some protection as well with its size and gravitation. Despite all the protection, the waves were destructive. The radioactivity killed most unprotected life. The gravitation chock caused earthquakes, floods and volcanoes. Furthermore, the meteorite rain caused global heating with another following cloud and ice age.

Lucie sat back. That might be it, she thought for herself. The Oort planet did, against all odds collide and crushed the Aqua planet, Astro, into pebbles. That will certainly explain the asteroid belt of pebbles. It also explains the tipping of the neighbor planets, the iron waste of the red one, and mysterious disappearing of both the planets.

Lucie was depressed. She had done the job, though there was some mistakes. All she wanted, was to lay down and rest for a long time. All in all, time was the property she had most of all. She laid down in her crypt and fell asleep for a long time.
