65, Prepare

The angels' plan was made in details. Lucie was excluded from the work. Beings like her did simply not mix very well with angels. Although they had to corporate from time to time, she was grounded this time. Lucie sat in her ship and saw that the angel’s teams of biots arrive in large numbers. Programmed to do their job, the biots were very determined. The team of biots sailed to the asteroid belt and started working on them.

She could not let go of the idea of possessing a biot. Their bodies were almost as perfect as the designed one she had previously. Their bodies were certainly much more preferable than the dragon’s body she was stuck in now. She thought about the possession of Klype. That was humiliation. He experienced it like a mental rape and she could feel that. In the end, that was also the main reason for his deceive. Taking control like that could be a bad experience for her too. She remembered an other occasion at Klype’s world. First the host got hysteric and acted very strange for weeks. Then she was put to some priest attentions. They ran a nonstop exorcism program that was unbearable. All the insults and all the humiliations she had to experience. She simply had to leave at last, because it became worse than exile.

A biot host would be like a peaceful home. Biots have no will and no rejection. Such a symbiosis would almost be like what she planned with her previous body. There were some drawbacks thought. The biots were collective, and had to follow certain superior orders, that she could not overrule. She suspected that the angels controlled them all in details, which was not exactly what she wanted. She would probably be discovered, so the angels would finally get her in a trap. When discovered, they might “accidentally” expose her with the anti-dragon virus. That would leave the body dead in a sterile room, which finally would cause her own death. She concluded that there was no escape, and that the best thing for her at the time was, as the angels said, - do nothing.

Lucie saw how the biots attached containers and engines to several asteroids. One by one they were prepared to be spaceships. Some of them carried containers and others did not. However, she realized the seriousness of the project, when an asteroid at 10 km in diameter was prepared. It did not get any containers, but it got a large plasma engine at the back and some minor steering jets on the sides.  All in all, there must have been hundreds of stones prepared for the mission.

The biots kept on working for weeks. She was impressed by their skills. The biots were certainly masters of the material world, although they probably had no clear idea of what they were doing. They were simply programmed, biologically, to do what they were instructed to, - nothing more and nothing less. It seemed that the asteroids were connected in some kind of system. The rocks had not merely attached containers and engines. Some got light and others were connected with cables. She wondered what that was for, but supposed that, because the biots were collective and internal communication was necessary. The whole party was connected with some kind of relations. In that way, if one part got lost, the others would either correct or replace that part. Such collective and material constructions was way out of Lucie’s nature. She realized that she never could have functioned in a biot's body after all.

When the biots' job was done, they withdraw to their ships. The angels arrived to inspect the work. They must have been pleased because the biots were not called back to correct anything. On her audio receiver Lucie heard long and powerful horn signals. That was the kind of warning signal the angels used when grave projects were set in action. Then the plasma jet at the grand asteroid exploded. A stream stood out of the back, and the steering jets corrected the course. Several other asteroids started up to, while others simply had to be pushed away by the biots' ships. Soon they all were at course straight to Terra. It was a long journey though that was going to last a year.

After the safe departure of the asteroids, the biots gathered their equipment and seemed to prepare for their own departure. She was right. Suddenly, they took of in 10G acceleration towards Terra. Lucie supposed that there had to be done some preparations at Terra to, for the asteroids to maximize the effects. Ten ships flew away with rockets at their back. She stood there and watched their light fade away as their ships closed in towards Terra. She figured their journey would last a month and give them good time to do whatever the assignment was.

A month later the team of biots landed their spacecrafts on every continent at Terra. They had two missions. The first one was to place trackers at strategic places. The objective was to guide the container asteroids to places where dragon lives flourished. The trackers sent signals to the asteroids steering engines that made the asteroids set their course directly towards them. They were put at mountains and other remote places, to protect them from animal damage.

The second mission was to collect terrestrial genes. Most kinds of vegetations, insects, fishes and other life forms were collected without much troubles. Seeds from plants were systematically put to container along with their insects. Fishes were of cause harder to collect. However, the biots vessels were amphibious as well and were used as submarines. Hunting, stunning and collecting sea-creators, or sample of them, was basically just another similar job that took some extra time. This was the easy part.

However, even though the biots were well shielded and armed, it was a dangerous mission at land. The terrestrial savage life forms had no other perception of the biots than being threatening, or simply being food. Larger animals like mammals and dragons were treated differently. A team of three biots were set to catch a sample of a large predator dragon. Usually they would stun it, castrate it and contain the sample. However, these were hard to catch because they had developed social intelligence. The biots was taken by surprise when the dragons rapidity change their tactics and with fiercely force jointly attacked the biots one by one. The dragons counter-attacked any attacker and did not stop until the danger was eliminated. After the hunt, all that was left, was some damaged equipment.

However, the biots were programmed to succeed. After a catastrophic first encounter, the biots change their tactics against the predator dragons After all, they could collect samples after they were dead. The biots gathered forces and started a regularly war against the dragon kind. Heavy armor, jets and flight suits were used. The biots was superior, once they gathered forces and was prepared. They could have recognized their superiority and gone easier to work, though. But the biots mode was now set at termination, so they did not stop until all the dragons in that area were eliminated. In that way, the entire dragon tribe was killed before a biot proudly could castrate a male and contain its cells.
