Muse has become rather famous the resent years due to their extraordinary talents. However, that is not the main reason for being selected for this last ‘Music Break’ concert before the USA President election. The band became somewhat more interesting when reading what Muses are, - and that CIA calls Meliana Trump ‘the Muse’. More about that in the Extra UU.
Muse are an English rock band. They released their debut album, ‘Showbiz’ in 1999, using falsetto and a melancholic alternative rock style. ‘Origin of Symmetry’ expanded their sound and got a reputation for energetic live performances. ‘Absolution’ saw further classical influence and was the first of five consecutive UK number one albums. ‘Black Holes and Revelations’ incorporated electronic and pop elements that was influenced by Depeche Mode. ‘The Resistance’ and ‘The 2nd Law’ explored themes of government oppression and civil uprising. ‘Drones’ was a concept album about drone warfare and returned to a harder rock sound.
Muse have won numerous awards, including two Grammy Awards, winning the Grammys for Best Rock Album for The Resistance and Drones, two Brit Awards, winning Best British Live Act twice, five MTV Europe Music Awards and eight NME Awards. They have sold over 20 million albums worldwide.
This week’s concert is from their fourth live album, ‘Live at Rome Olympic Stadium on CD/DVD and CD/Blu-ray formats’. The album contains the band's performance at Rome's Stadio Olimpico on 6 July 2013, in front of over 60,000 people; it was the first concert filmed in 4K format. The concert was a part of the Unsustainable Tour, Muse's mid-2013 tour of Europe. The film had theatrical screenings in 20 cities worldwide.

Before talking about Melania ‘the Muse’, some words about the song ‘Madness’. The single and music video, was released in 2012. It reached #1 in the UK Albums Chart and #2 on the US Billboard 200. The song earned a nomination in the Best Rock Song category and the album itself was nominated for the Best Rock Album at the 55th Grammy Awards. According to NME, the song ‘Madness’ draws influences from Queen's ‘I Want to Break Free’, George Michael's ‘Faith’ and some instrumental elements of his other hit ‘I Want Your Sex’. Bellamy stated that the song started as a personal reflection after a fight realize that she was right. He also stated the song was the band's attempt to strip down the sound of the album. This video was a collaboration with director Mandler, who previously directed the music video for ‘Neutron Star Collision’.
Mythologically, Wikipedia writes, “The Muses are the inspirational goddesses of literature, science, and the arts in Greek mythology. They were considered the source of the knowledge embodied in the poetry, lyric songs, and myths that were related orally for centuries in these ancient cultures. They were later adopted by the Romans as a part of their pantheon. In current English usage, "muse" can refer in general to a person who inspires an artist, writer, or musician.”
